Vaccinations

Vaccinations, also known as immunizations, are an important way to look after health by preventing illness from a wide variety of infectious diseases. They are usually given as an injection and work by allowing your body to build immunity against such conditions as measles, mumps, Rubella, polio, tetanus, hepatitis, HPV, flu virus and many more. We provide adults and children of all ages with vaccinations as per the Dubai Health Authority schedule. In addition we also provide travel vaccinations.

Adult Vaccinations

Immunity is just as much needed in adulthood as it is in childhood. We promote and provide adult vaccinations and boosters to prevent disease and build up herd immunity.

Flu Vaccines

Flu Vaccines

The flu is an illness that is caused by the Influenza virus. These infections are particularly common in the winter season (“flu season”). The flu vaccine will guard and protect the body against this illness. It is a good idea to take this vaccine every year as the flu viruses change slightly each year so last years flu shot may not give you full protection!

HPV Vaccine

General Questions

Our doctors have answered few frequently asked questions regarding vaccinations and immunization for you.

Immunization is the process of giving a vaccine to an individual to guard them against diseases. Getting immunity from taking vaccinations is like getting immunity when you are sick and your body produces antibodies to protect you, except that you don’t have to get sick to develop immunity. You can gain immunity against disease through immunization. Sometimes, an additional administration called a booster is done to provide re-exposure to the immunizing antigen.

With so many diseases spreading and without appropriate immunity, we are at risk for many serious illnesses that can have life-long effects, some even life-threatening. Immunization keeps you and those around you safe and protected from many conditions like diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, influenza, and measles.

Immunization should be started from a very early age. Our doctors start recommending immunizations even before your baby turns 1. While it depends on what stage of life they are in, consultations with our doctors will help you understand the timeline for child immunizations, and as adults they can guide you based on symptoms.

Yes. Side-effects from vaccines are mostly reversible and minor like fever and soreness at the site of injection. Mild reactions go away on their own within a few days, while severe or more long-lasting effects are extremely rare. With timely monitoring and follow-ups, our doctors can detect rare adverse reactions and help you.
